55 grains and below. You might even get away with something as high as a 62 grain bullet.

If you want superb accuracy with the 1 in 12 give Sierra 52gr match hollow point boat tails a try.  For general use the 55gr FMJ works fine.  Watch-Six

55 gr. as the top, anything below would be good too.

My 700 has a 12 twist. Shot some winchester 45gr. varmint white box at 11.00 per 40 rd. box and it will put 10rd. groups in an inch easy at 100 and I am satasfied to buy this at this price and performance.

55 grn is the 'accuracy sweet-spot' for 1:12 twist barrels.

It was no accident that the early AR-15's with 1:12 twist barrels were matched with 55grn bullets.)

I had a 20" sporter in .223 with 1:12 twist.  It LOVED that Winchester white box 45gr HP.  

I handloaded 50gr ballistic tip with good results, too.  Wouldn't group with 55gr for shit.
