Without giving out the actual design, which must be kept confidential, I can tell you this.
The mount would use a rotating drum which the user can adjust, using a series of simple screws to pre-set a number of ranges, up to 7, at any elevation he desires and able to dial in a second or two.
This is not a simple device to machine. I am not sure of the definition of "priced right". We are talking all metal construction at this point and hard anodized. I would hazard a guess in the $200 to $250 range, but that is just a guess. We are talking about machining about 8 major component parts.
If the pic rail was made longer it could be used with any scope, not just a red dot type. All ranging would be pre-set by the user, in advance of the match or combat scenerio and the user would determine the ranges. No preset cams or mil dots required. Cam systems are factory preset and only work for the rifle/ammo they were factory preset for, and while they may put you in the general vicinity, they are seldom able to pinpoint. I would post a pic of the prototype but there are sharks that lurk in all waters.
Once the base was zeroed for the given ranges it would be a simple matter of rotating the "drum", kind of like an HK sight, for the given range to the target.
