What is a pre ban Mini 14 worth.  My dad has one that was bought way before 1994 (can't remember exactly).  I should be able to dig up the sales receipt after some searching to prove it's Pre Ban status.  It does not have any of the evil features on it but being Pre Ban I know it is legal to install them.  It is in very good shape, probably has less than 1000 rounds through it.  My dad lost interest is guns years ago.

Actually, that's not true. For it to be a legal pre-ban it had to have the evil features in place before 9/94.

Regardless, standard model Mini-14's, pre or post, aren't worth all that much. Used ones sell for ~$350 where I live.

Exactly...it's postban now, my friend.

If a rifle were in assault rifle form before the ban, making it pre-ban, would it be legal to install more evil features. For example, a preban AR that has a flash suppressor, bayonet lug, pistol grip, and accepts detachable mags may have a telescoping stock added to it right now, correct?

So would a mini GB model with a flash supp., bayo lug, and acccepting detach mags (so already in preban/too many evil features form) be able to have added a pistol grip and folding stock?

I reitterate that I am not talking specifically about Stewarts preban, but no evil features rifle. I am asking about a preban rifle that is already in preban "assault rifle" form being able to have even more features added like people by converting A2 and A1 stocks to telescopers.

This was always a question I wondered about.

Thanks!

There are no degrees of "pre-ban-ness" so if it's a pre-ban with sufficiant evil features, you can add more evil features without a problem.

If you have a pistol grip stock and pin on flash hider for the mini14 in the closet next to it, which we or the law doesnt know if you have or not. Its pre ban.  I wouldnt be able to tell if you bought the choate stock 10 years ago  or yesterday. People's mouths are their greatest enemies.

Actually, if a rifle was an assault rifle before the ban, it wouldn't matter, as assault rifles are covered under the NFA of 1934.
