Wanna hazard a guess as to which is hotter, the temp of your trunk or the temp inside your receiver when you bumpfire your AK? Ever get yours so hot that it would burn you if you started touching the gun? Hehehehe, I have... your trunk get that hot inside?
Edited to add, why are you using bakelite mags on a 7.62? Just use the steel mags, can't melt those in your trunk, and they make a nice club when you run out of ammo! |

You have SAR1 bakelite mags?
Anyway, the thing you need to be concerned about is the ammo itself. The trunk of your car can exceed 200F in the AZ summer sun, and these high temperatures will degrade the powder and primer compound over time. I would recommend changing the ammo at least twice a year; once at the beginning of the hot season, and once right after. Once in the middle wouldn't be a bad idea either. The mags should be fine. -Troy |
