Is there a commercial source for Colt uppers, or am I stuck with EE and Gunbroker. (Not that there's anything wrong with that
 )

Try Dennis Todd (610-543-7300) he's a bit pricey, but he's got good stuff.

Hoplite in SGN has them #1-502-955-5014. They seem to be pricey, $899 for a 6920 preban M4 with bolt, $749 w/o bolt. tactical carbine 6721 for $869. Ouch.
