Well, I'm trying to expand my firearms collection a bit.  I have to many semi-autos

I finally got a lever gun (Marlin 1894, 30-30)

Now, I need a shotgun.

I like the light weight of the Mossy, and the bayonet lug is COOL.

There's a used(excellent) 590 for $340 at the local gun shop.  Good price?  It is not an A1, so it has plastic on the triger guard and safety switch, but if its a good price...

What do you all think of this gun in general.

Thanks

For a used 590, I wouldn't pay over $250.  I bought my 590 new for $300, my 590A1 was $400 w/ a knoxx stock.

I bought a new 590 about 10 years ago. I think the factory model number was 50663 or something like that. Had ghost ring sights. I was very dissapointed in the quality, internal parts were extremely rough. Took quite a bit of work to get it to function. This was prior to the A1 model. Maybe their quality is better now but that turned me off of Mossberg for good.
