Does anyone know what kind of rifle the bad guy used in the movie "Crossfire Trail" with Tom Selleck?

It is straight-pull? bolt action with a tubular magazine and a scope?

The same rifle is used in John Wayne's "The Sons of Katy Elder", but I have no clue what it is.

Any help?

No Troy,
Good guess though. If I remember, it only had a half magazine and the stock was curved in the front.

Troy,

On second thought you may be correct. I just can't find an accurate picture of the exact rifle.

Oh sure, I rented "Crossfire Trail" when it came out and I haven't seen "Sons of Katie Elder" in many moons.

Now you're going to make me rent them both to see which gun you're talking about.

You evil, evil person.

The sniper-type bad guy was using a Remington-Keene bolt action rifle. Selleck had a Winchester 76 (Cenntenial model).
