I noticed some of the new "tactical" buttstocks at the funshow yesterday and I can not remember what the legal minimum overall length for a long gun is.

But check your state laws. I believe some states, like Michigan, have further limitations.

Federal rules specify measuring with any folded or collapsable stock in the FULLY EXTENDED position, so it usually isn't an issue.
Fed: Shotgun: 18" barrel, 26" overall length Rifle: 16" barrel, 26" overall length Of course in the PRK, they increased overall length to 30", measured with any folding or collaspable stock CLOSED/FOLDED. Most people don't know this, however, and are running around with illegal PRK AWs. -Troy |
