Are you interested in shooting a 3 gun Match? If so email [email protected]  This would be a Pistol, Shotgun, Rifle match with emphasis on the Tactical aspect. All Types of Rifles/pistol will be allowed, single action, bolt, lever and semi auto. Scenarios will be designed to enforce good tactical principals, use of cover, multiple shooting positions, movement, transition to pistol. CQB and medium range to 100 yards targets will engaged. Most will be field course that do not dictate a specific shooting sequence but leave the problem solving to the shooter. Shotgun will use Slugs and bird shot for respective steel and iron paper targets. Bolt Action rifles will be at a disadvantage for CQB scenarios, Loaner ambidextrous AR15's & H&K's and ammo will be available for use on those stages that Bolt Action will be at a disadvantage. Normal IPSC pistol speed holster may also be a problem as you will be rolling around in the dirt more and need a very secure pistol holster. Also IPSC normal White/Good Brown/Bad targets bias will be avoided, shooters will have to evaluate targets based on other criteria such as weapons displayed or actions/position. Targets are penetrable, as in real life, so observation of what behind your target will be a consideration. Scoring will be time penalty system. All targets will be neutralized with one rifle round in the A/B zone from a 223 or above or 40 caliber or above carbines. Two rounds in the C area, or three in the D area. Targets with one or more hits but not neutralized give a 5 second penalty, a target with no hits a 10 second penalty. No shoots will have 15 to 30 second penalties depending on the scenario. For ease of scoring and fast match results pistol rounds will be scored the same. The standard IPSC scoring sheets will be used. Stage winners will be determined by stage time plus penalty times. Overall match winner will determined by fastest time. No class's such as senior, limited, open will exists, all types of equipment compete together. Scopes, compensator, red dots, laser, whatever are all OK. The point is to find out what you can do with your equipment.

This is just a get started quick scenario, majority rules on changes, everything but the safety rules are subject to change by a vote of the majority. Safety rules from the IPSC three gun rule book will apply. Single Action pistols with no safety bar AKA Colt Single Action and clones will have to be carried with an empty chamber under the hammer for field course that require transition to pistol. You may change guns on different stages, so bring everything you want to shoot.

By the way, I run the official GTRI mailing list, which you may want to get on.  Most of the core members who are involved with range avtivities are there.  I will get an invite out to you in a bit.

Have you spoken to Ron and Bryan about this yet?
