im looking for a cheap alternative to wolf in 7.62,anyone have any experiance with silver bear ammo. it is nickel plated instead of shalac coated.

Silver BEars shhots fine in a mini-30.  Accuracy is no better than wolf, but primers seem softer.  I have much fewer no fires.  Since ruger will not sell you a new firing pin, w/o returning rifle, I see softer primers as aplus.  ZT

I have put more Silver Bear HPs through my mini-thirty than any other type of round.  It seems to be more accurate than Wolf and I haven't had a single functioning problem with it.  I have also noticed that Silver Bear hollow points actually expand unlike Wolf HPs.  I really like it. YMMV
