If you are going to get a 9mm semi-auto carbine, which one you like? pros & cons?

It makes you sad when nobody responds to your thread even after 24 hours. I know I hate it.

Since this is AR15.com I dont think I could answer anything else.

Olympic arms 9mm upper on a Cavalry Arms lower.

I have the Ruger PC9 and it is pretty cool...I also have a bushmaster in  .223 so I can't give you a real comparison.  However I am sure the PC9 is a little cheaper, then an AR-15 in 9mm. The accuracy with the PC9 is great out to 100 yards, after that it drops off rather quickly, but what the hell, it's a 9mm...

Lots of after market 15-20 mags for teh PC9.  All the ones I've tried wored fine....again not sure about 9mm for ar-15.

What I like the most.....I'm sure I should, but I don't wear any ear protection. The PC9 is not that loud at all, sounds like a .22 w/ a punch.

I have the Oly 9mm and use 32 rd Sten mags and I love it. For under 4 bucks you can't beat those Sten mags, Oly all the way!!!!!!!!!!

I have an RRA upper, and I say get the Ruger, because it is cheaper, you can use it without your AR lower, and you won't end up throwing aa bunch of money into tricking it out.

If money is an issue then of course Ruger. I just bought a colt pre-ban 9mm at the show over the weekend and love the hell out of it. There is just something about the feeling of a colt ar-15 in your hand that just makes my day... of course the gun and 4 mags LNIB, I'm broke as hell...

I love the UZI and AR 9mm carbines. Get all you can, you might want to consider this one for a really nice camp gun.

Ruger Pros:
Handier than AR
Costs less
No mag worries
Very reliable and durable

AR Pros:
May be more accurate
More sighting and furniture options
Trigger beats Ruger hands down

On the whole, I am a fan of the PC9.  It's a great little rifle for the 9mm round.

If this was another AR-15 or Mini 14 comparison I would say get the AR. But since we are talking about a short range 9mm carbine, I will recommend the Ruger. Why spend more than you need to?

I have owned two different Colt 9MM ARs, and they both worked like a charm, and I sold them both, much regrets.  If I had to choose today, I would probably take the Ruger, if I could get it converted to take my 9MM sig magazines.  I emailed LoneWolf Distributors, and they said that their gunsmith that did the conversion has retired, so they don't offer the conversions anymore.

I believe that the Ruger PC would be a great carbine for the Mrs..  Cheap, Cheap ammo, easy to shoot, not very loud, and not as intimidating as an AR, to non-gun oriented people.

I've been thinking of getting the PC9. And since I have 6-30 round mags for my P89. They will fit in the PC9. Makes me won't one even more now.

Another option is a Feather in 9mm, got one and love it also. Uses Uzi mags, buy one from Feather and convert other Uzi mags accordingly, and comes with its very own soft carry case.

I'd say if you have the AR15, buy the 9mm upper for it.

This really nails it....the only problem I have with the PC9 is the trigger, it's a pretty heavy pull....but once you get use to it, it's not a prob.
