Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Asterisks onRemington barrels

I know this question has probably been asked a million times, but what do the stars/asterisks on the remington rifle barrels stand for?
My PSS has 5 ***** on each side of "Remington",
and the box has a note that says "5*".
I've been told it means a better barrel, and I've been told it doesn't mean squat.
Any ideas out there? Thanks.

I did, and they say it's just an internal product code.

Talk to someone in the Custom Shop.  They may not be as tight lipped.
