Anybody know a formula for shrinking targets on a copier to approximate targets appearance at various ranges? Example: Sight picture of target set at 25 meters as seen across my living room. (appx. 10') It's just too much for my little brain, in my giant alien like head, to figure out.

simple fraction equation.

(t1)/(r1) = (t2)/(r2)

t1 = size of original target (say 10" circle)
r1 = original range (25 meters)
t2 = size of new target (what you will be solving for)
r2 = new range (10')

1 meter = 3.28 feet

replace variables with the nubmers
10"/82' = t2/10'

cross multiply
82*t2 = 10*10
82*t2 = 100

divide
(82*t2 = 100)/82
t2 = 1.22" diameter circle.

so pretty much 1 and quarter inch circle at 10 feet is equal to a 10 inch circle target at 25 meters.

25 meters is approximately 82 feet.

so 10/82=0.122

Set the copier to 12%

If it won't set that low, set it at 50% then
copy the copy two more times.
