Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - WTK: Going rate & info on Pre-Ban Dissipator

I have come into an Excellent condition Bushmaster Pre-Ban Dissipator rifle, factory built.  I enjoy AR's, but don't need another one.  Is the "Dissipator" in reference to the upper only?  As in, could one use the lower to swap around other uppers or is the rifle 1 unit?
Strange how I have been shooting them for so long, yet this is my first experience with this model.

Yes, "Dissipator" relates to the upper receiver assy. only.  You can switch out the upper & lower to whatever configuration you choose as the lower will be a std. AR receiver.  You should confirm that the lower receiver is indeed a pre-ban. If it is, the value can range from approx. $1,200-1,400.

Thanks for the info.  I'm sure its preban...but where can I check the serial #?

I believe that 62000 is the cut off date, you do need to verify with Bushmaster that it left the factory as a complete rifle though.
