What PART in Heat?
At the last FUNshow, someone was selling rubber slings. Very nice, VERY no-slip-off-your-shoulder. I forget the brand though... The nice thing about it was the ability to stretch it over your head, so the rifle would go from your side to slung across your back in 1 second... Is this the sling you are asking about? mjp |

The bungee slings in Heat were made by (then just) retired SAS Sgt Andy McNab, who was the technical consultant on the movie. You might be familiar with his books Immediate Action and Bravo Two Zero.
  The bungee slings were just long bungee cords connected at several points with nylon wire ties. The bungee loops under the left arm, has a wire tie on either side of the neck, another under the right arm, and at the bottom where it attaches to the stock of the gun. You could also use rope or leather straps the same way. McNab also designed the mag vests used in the movie, which were just elastic bands sewed onto an ordinary vest. -Troy |

Troy, certainly you remember the thread in which detailed instructions were posted as to how to make such a sling - any input on where this might be found?
I did a search but it only goes back 180 days. This would be more like 18 months ago. |

Actually, I don't think I ever saw such a post, but the only difficult part about making this type of bungee sling is getting long pieces of bungee cord. Then, it's a 5-minute job.
