I’m looking to buy a 22-250 rifle and was wondering what you guys might recommend?

Remington 700, too many afternarket options to pass on, IMO.

What application for the rifle? Are you looking for a target rifle, bench gun or a walking rifle? Price range?

Rem 700 VS, VLS, or VSS.

Tikka -- comes with a nice trigger, everyone I shot was a tack driver, also have a detachable mag and a Sako extractor (most of the options you pay for on a remington come with this rifle)

The Whitetail Hunter in Synthetic is cheaper than a 700BDL.

I am not bashing remingtons, I have a few of them.  The these Tikkas really impressed the s--t out of me.

Rem 700VS. An older one with NO lock on the bolt. These things have a great reputation for accuracy. Mine will shoot 1/2" 3 shot groups at 100 yards with several different loads. If you want to do a lot of walking with it though, that 26" barrel is definately NOT what you want, it's a heavy SOB.

Definitely go Remington 700. I have never had a single complaint about mine.....

Here's another vote for the 700.  Great rifles, great prices, and very accurate.

My thoughts exactly...  I seen one the other day NIB for just over $600.  Very nice weapon.

The Tikka’s are very nice out of the box. All the ones that I have sold, the customers have reported back shooting small groups. After glass bedding expect the group size to get even smaller. .5 to .25 MOA. On the other hand the savage 110 looking kind of junky. Will keep up with the best of them, Sub MOA there too. I know of a couple of police forces that are using the savage 110. As for Remington….. If you can get your hands on a older 700 go for it. If newer is your option and factory stock configuration (meaning no aftermarket parts, barrels etc) I would go with one of the other 2. Seen too many defects lately in the 700’s (out of round chambers, rough cut chambers not polished, throats out of spec.) Basically if a customer wants a 700 I get a action and build it up from there.

Win Mod 70 Stealth. Trigger is on the heavy side, but with a little TLC, it can be over come.
Have been working up loads and so far Rem 55 core lok, 5 shots are under 1/2 inch @ 100 yards. Sierra 52 HPBT MATCH are a close second. BTW I was just fire-forming the brass.

I second the savage.  I picked up on in a trade a couple of weeks ago.  It shoots less than .5moa 6 shot groups w/ 55gr Rem softpoints.  IF it had a decent scope and trigger, this thing would be awesome.  ZT
