Hi everyone, I own a bushmaster m4, postban, 1:9 twist. I am thinking about buying some ammo from ammoman.com and he has a sale on 63gr fmj. I normally shoot 55gr. Will my weapon be ok with the 63 gr? thanks

Yes but you may want to double-check the zero on the rifle with the new stuff.

1/9 will handle 40gr. - 77gr. w/out problem.

How about burning out the barrel throat faster?

Yes, 1/9 will stabilize 40gr. As for the technical details of throat erosion I'm not the guy to answer that (see below link). All I can say is I seriously doubt a person would choose to shoot enough 40gr. to ruin a barrel, the ammo is seldom found, more expensive and generally only chosen for varminting use.

The sweet-spot for accuracy with a 1:9 twist barrel is 62 grn.

63 grn be....fine !!!
