Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - DCM upper on Varminter lower???

I have a Varminter and I'm thinking about getting a DCM competition upper. My question is how does this work; I mean is it 2 guns on 1?

Are guns registered by upper's or lower's?
Do I fill out the standard form?
Is it practical or a waste of money,(just buy the hole darn thing)?

Do many of you fellow AR'S have more than one upper for one particular lower?

Only the lower is registered.  You can have as many uppers for the one lower as you want.  Still considered one gun.
