Sent an upper to one of the 'Smith's that post on this board.  Needed to have a brake installed.  I get the upper back and install my handguards with rail and vertical grip.  I notice much more rotational play around the handguards than I was used to.  I take off the handguards, pull the gas tube and check the barrel nut.  DAMN THING WAS NOT EVEN FINGER TIGHT!!  Anyway, good lesson as far as double checking your equipment, especially after sending it off to someone to work on.

I had a simillar experince. It wasn't a "safty" thing like that, but something that shouldn't of happened. Proper contacts were made.

That's all I'm sayin!

For a screw up like that I think a name is in order.
That could hurt someone.
