Interesting that the IDF like many here in the states think that a 22 cal is "less lethal".  

In the last month I can think of 3 different people who were shot with 22 cal handguns, all requiring surgery.  Two died in less than 48 hours, and would have died much quicker had they not had immediate surgical intervention.  1 dude was shot in the back through a car seat, 1 bullet went through his left lung and lodged in the door the other was just under his skin between two ribs anterior.

At close range, a 22 is more than adequate!
