I went and picked up the Remington 700 Sendero in 300 Win Mag today. Just like the VS that I bought it looks great. Trigger is a bit heavy but that will be taken care of after work. Now for the expensive parts; optics, mounts, bipod, etc.
Here are some pics of it with my VS that has been boflaged. The VS has Badger Rings and Base, Loopy 4.5-14x50 LRT scope, and harris bipod. The Sendero will get the same setup except with a Loopy M3 scope.     Future plans Badger Ordnance Trigger Guards McMillan A4 stocks Blue Print Actions Custom Barrels when these are shot out. What's the length on that Sendero barrel? Looks a few inches longer than the VS.

Its still a 26" barrel but the action is a bit longer. The Sendero measures 46 5/8" and the VS is 45 3/4". The part that sucks is I had to raise the shelf in my safe again and have very little room for the handguns.

I did the Boflage myself. I went with boflage because I had no confidence in my painting skeelz. I will get the spray that removes it and do it permanantly. Most of the boflage didnt stick properly because it was hot out when I did it. It did turn out fairly well though.

You think I can afford carpet and guns at the same time
 I actually live in an apartment. The landlord has talked about replacing the carpet. I hope he does. What you see is the good part. I'm gonna have to do allot of hole patching in the area my safe is in. I'm sure they would love to see what I've done. |

In the past, I have always ordered mine from SWFA. I do not know what the current price is, but they were always about $15.00 below local retail. www.riflescopes.com You need to call them about the bipod. They do not list them on their web site. Edit to add: My last receipt from about a year ago I paid $49.95 |

I honestly don't know where I bought it, or who makes it...(I just went and looked at it, no tag or markings)
Since I never throw anything away, I seem to have collected quite a few slings over the years... This is one of 'em... The front padded area is like canvas material, and has a suede strip running down the middle on the inside... The slip adjusters are steel... I'll double check, maybe the mfg is marked on the swivels ? Mighta come from Wal-Mart

The worst part is when you put out your rifle before you begin to spray. My stomach was turning. But after the first coat of olive drab I was stoked. Here is the before pic

The scope is a really long SOB... I'd like it 2" further up the gun... Only got the gun last week. I'm still playing around with bases & rings... It's been flip-flopped with spare parts 3x so far... Guess I'll 'hafta go out & buy the right base sooner or later... |

Good decision on painting it. It really came out great. It was kind of "fugly" before. It does hurt to call any rifle "fugly", but with that satin scope...it needed paint. Great job. |

Thanks for the links... How much $$$, or equiv in trade do you want for the reloading gear ? I've been thinking of getting into it for awhile now... Bought 2 reloading manuals, but no equipment yet... You have everything needed to get started ? |

I have a Savage 10FP in one of those really ugly green Choate "John Plaster" stocks, I think it would look pretty cool done up like your Remmy there... where did you get the stuff, and how did you learn to apply it? |

I dont have much info on the boflage stuff for you. All I know is that you can get a complete kit for about $14 from Sportsmans Warehouse in Loveland CO 970-461-5000 hit option 1 then ask for John or Rodger. Tell them Scott Chapman told you to call. Its great stuff and really easy to work with. They have the green kit (what I used) and a brown kit. Scott |
