Getting a HK 91 clone with the Fed Arms reciever with picatinny rail. I'll be mounting a 6x24 Tasco Mildot scope on it. What would be a good range to zero at to take advantage of the bullet trajectory.(I.E. flattest trajectory.) And, what distance should the irons be sighted in at? I know the Santose 50 yd battlesight for the AR works well for that round. Is there something like this for the .308? Thanks.

I zero all my rifles except for the 22LR for 100 yards dead on. In TN the odds of needing a longer shot aren't too high.

I like a 200yd zero for the .308 and similiar trajectory cartridges. I agree a 50yd zero will put you fairly close to being on at 200.

I agree with Beekeeper and Hillbilly.  I sight to zero at 200 with the 6.5x55 and the 7.62x51 / .308.  That way you are about on at 50, 1 to 2 inches high at 100, on at 200, and about 2 to 4 low at 300.
