That is a good deal. I bought a few toys this week as well, don't know how good a deal though. I got a Para Ordnance C6.45s for $625 and a Remington Varmiter Syntetic .308 for $525. Had to tell someone, congrats on your find.

As promised:
The AR is in perfect shape and appears to have been fired very little. My cousin said he hadn't shot it more than twice - under 500 rds total. It came with three 40 rd USA mags (yuck!). This is the Mosin. It looks like it's in pretty good shape too, but I'll know more after a good cleaning. It even has a neato bayonet/tongue depressor on it! |

The Remington Varmiter .308 is new in the box. I think its a decent price for it.

Is that AR15 7.62x39 ONLY? or can you slap another upper on it, and still use AR15 mags in it? (what is there, an adapter for the AK mags?)

I inserted a .223 mag and it seated OK, although it seemed a little loose. The 7.62 mags fit tighter. The lower is actually marked 7.62x39. It seems like it would work, but this being my first 7.62 AR, I don't know for sure. I wonder about the buffer and spring.... The mags are not the same as AK mags. They are unique to the 7.62 AR. I'm guessing that means they are pricey too. |

You got a great deal! The USA mags that you received with the rifle are pricey and VERY hard to get and best of all, they are not crap like most USA mags. You have three of the few hicap 7.62x39 mags that work reliably on a 7.62x39 AR15. I have a Colt 7.62x39 AR15 and USA 30 rounders and they work very well. You can also switch uppers to a .223 upper. Enjoy!

The difference betwen the 7.62mm Russian ad the 5.56mm is the bolt. The lower should accept any upper and cartircgde combination without a hitch. You got more than deal.

That is a mighty fine looking Colt, and you got it for a mighty fine price too! I never owned a 7.62x39 AR but I have heard good things about the USA mags for that caliber. The Mosin Nagant looks great as well. Nice deal gus, way to go. There are still some very good deals out there as evident by this one, even though it was family.

LOL! Nah, I'd hate to be the fool that actually TRIED to rob him!!! He just bought some new toys also and needed room in his safe. He set the price at "exactly what it cost new". He now only has 8 pre-ban AR's. If I hadn't bought them (at least the AR) he would have sold them for current market value but he didn't want to "rip me off". |
