Have you tried the 50 Beowulf upper from Alexander Arms yet? I shot that badboy at the BRC and it just plain rocks!

I haven't seen the 50 Beowulf. Does it use AR mags like the .458 SOCOM?

It should, it's a regular AR type upper made to shoot the 50 Beowulf round

they also are selling LEE reloading dies so you can reload your own. They have 325 grn and 400 grn bullets that they load and use. the 325 grn bullet is a 50AE bullet. You can also get 300 and 350 grn 50AE bullets that could be loaded into this case. I will probably play with all the different weight bullets for this. Can't wait till it gets in. I have a Tromix 50AE, but enjoyed this so much, I ordered one at the BRC.

Any reason to prefer one over the other in terms of reliability, parts availability, or ammo availability? They both look quite imposing.

I think you'll have a better selection of bullets with the .458 SOCOM, due to the several current .45 cal rifle cartridges. |
