On the flight home from Heathrow,England, I had the fortune of sitting next to one of the most foremost opponets to handgun possession in Massachusetts. We were talking, and suddenly she said to me, you've been shot, haven't you? Well in fact I have been on the receiving end of a high power rifle. She told me she was shot in the head and I could see she meant just to the rear of her eye orbit. I did not go into details but let  her speak. One of the quotes she used was that over 400,000 people are shot in America in a day...I believe Vietnam stastistics show that 300,000 americans were wounded 150,000 bad enough for a hospital stay. So I'd love to know where she had been fed these figures. I started to suspect that she was being manipulated just like we were in Vietnam.
I asked her to try a 'thought experiment': she had a gun, she was on the second floor of her home with no phone available, and she was between her daughter and the bad guy. He was armed, and ready to kill. Whoud she protect her daughters life with deadly force ? Yes, she replied...amazing. I wish I had more time, but I realized she was doing this for herself in order to deal with the trauma of being shot in the head 22 years ago...and assholes here were using her for their own convoluted ends...Interesting......

Of that number, amazingly only 250,000 are infants.  It seems they are playing with guns more these days also.

I don't think 400,000 people were shot during the worst day of WWI, WWII or the Civil War.

Can't reveal her name cuz I don't know her name. It wasn't CJ though...It became obvious to me that she was being used. I told her to be careful about that. I was suprised that she was very open and sincere. Suspect the people pulling the strings are less so 'open', and not so sincere.

Probably a voter.
Probably a breeder too.  Wonder what she teaches her kids?
A liberal for sure.
Sure hope she isn't a school teacher.

They *used* Jim Brady the same way. Even his wife used him. Poor guy. Shot in the head and then treated like a "poster turnip".

just so you guys know, based on those stats, and a projection based on the 2000 US censes, all of you who live in america, should expect being shot at least once every 2 years, since you have a 57.1% chance of getting shot every year. if you live to 70, you will have sufferd 40 gun shot wounds. it would probly be safe to say on avrage one out of ten GSWs would be fatal, so most of us wouldnt make it past 20. in 19.7 years the entire us population of 287 million would be dead, if you dont account for immagration. if we dont ban guns now, come 2021 we will have no one left. to compensate for our self destruction guided by the vast right wing conspiricy we should open the borders and give all aliens full welfare and unemplayment benifits. while were at it, we better make sure they have jobs , so affirmitive action for all.

man i deserve a libral award

Do you know if the firearms stats exclude suicide?
Only homicide or accidental shootings?

That's on thing that pisses my off, take 30-40k firearms deaths every year BUT on average half of those are suicides!

Actually, IIRC, it's more than half. The other thing that burns my ass is when the gun-grabbing baboons include 18-24 year olds (gang-bangers) when quoting their "kids killed" by handguns stats.
