For me it is my Glock 19 that I carry religously everywhere I go. If I ever had to rely on one that would probably be it.

If I reach for a handgun 'round the homestead it is my 10MM G20.

If I lived in a free State and CCW'd it would be either my G30 or G19.

My customized Kimber. Carried daily. It has 27,000+ rounds through it and the only stoppages that I can remember were somewhere around the 15,000 round mark. I installed an Aftec extractor and it's right back on track

Glock 23 that I've had for years. It's never disappointed me.  Only time I don't carry it is when I'm on duty then it's a Beretta 96.

It's hard to pry me away from my Glock 26.  Small (as Glocks go) & yet very easy to manage.  Tritium sights & extended slide release.  Also have a 2nd generation Glock 19 w/tritium & a Streamlight M-3 near the bed.

P.S.  I notice that Glock seems to be winning by a landslide here.    Probably because it's as dependable as death & taxes and extremely simple to operate under stress.  It's not, however, so expensive that you break out in tears if it gets lost or stolen.

Glock 30 in a Fobus Paddle and a Glock 21 FML +2 magazine in a Galco QMC as a spare. 10+1 of .45ACP Federal 230gr. Hydra-Shoks in the gun and 14 in the spare mag. I also carry a Surefire E2 on a regular basis. Hard to argue with 25 rounds of .45ACP.

When more descreet carry is needed then I opt for my S&W 342PD AirLite Ti .38Spl. with 5 rounds of .38 Federal 125gr. +P Nyloks and 5-10 spares in Bianchi Speed Strips.

The Glock gets carried most of the time. The spare mag gets carried more and more since 9/11 "just in case". In situations that I deem "lower risk" then I will carry the AirLite. And if I deem a situation to be of "higher risk" then I will carry both the G30 and the AirLite as a backup.

Since 9/11 I almost never leave the house without one or the other. I just feel naked without them.

Did I make a wrong turn and end up on glock talk?

Personally, I wasn't impressed with Glock, I carry a Springfield Ultra Compact .45 ACP with Kimber mags. 230 Grain JHP Winchesters.

But that is what I prefer.

I have quite a few of the state of the art autos that you guys mentioned.

The one that I NEVER let out of my reach is a S&W mod 36 3in. It has a 4 digit serial# and is probably older than I am.

For a NY reload I keep a NAA Mini 22lr in my watch pocket.

My Glock 17 is for fighting my way to my AR-15. Sidearms are for those unfortunate situations, such as making doody, when you do not have your rifle at hand....

Well, I carry a HK USP .45 Tac, my neighbor carries a HK USP .45F.

Once I'm done SBRing my USC w/30 rnd mags, I'll carry it in my laptop bag I carry everyware (I'm an I.S. guy). I still trust the Tac the most. Around the house, I trust my VEPR II .223 as long gun, but I still ALWAYS have the Tac loaded and on me. . .

Before I got my Beretta 92FS, it was a Colt 1991 model. Always went bang when I squeezed the trigger, accuracy was good enough for me. THEN I got the Beretta in 9mm. Great gun, but too big to carry concealed in hot weather (read: MOST of the time in Phoenix) so I got a Sig P239 in .40S&W. It's a real shooter. I carry it 95% of the time now, except when I'm in one of those "firepower" moods, then I go back to the Beretta 'cause I scored two 15rnd mags at the gunshow for $12.50 each. I don't think the guy at the booth knew what he had. Occasionally I even carry the S&W 686, since I found a Fobus holster for it. But again, most of the time now it's the Sig. When I'm at home, I keep the gunsafe at "easy to open" and there's a 30rnd mag for the AR sitting on top, and the 12ga has a stock shell holder with 3@ 00BUCK and 2@ slugs. The Sig-or whatever sidearm I'm favoring that day- goes where I go in the house.

I've found a handgun to be the most reliable semi-auto weapon I own.

My USP .45 has over 3000 rounds through it and I have not had ONE issue, ever.
(well there was that one time I gave wolf ammo a shot, lets just say it didn't work out, read previous wolf threads for more info)

So my USP .45 would be the weapon I'd choose.
