I was interested in building up a ruger 10/22 I was thinking butler creek folding stock, scope, muzzel brake and thats about it.  Can I legally put a folder on a 10/22 ? or will that make it a assualt rifle? if so is there pre ban 10/22's and what would there serial numbers be?

thanks these laws get confusing I wouldn't think there would be any restrictions on 22's but you never know.

This is THE site for information on the 10/22. I have just finished building my second one and then selling off parts for my third one in order to save up for my first ever AR15!
 Good luck.
