of the type generally used in combat ?

By this I mean guns that meet the following criteria:

Rifle: semi-auto or full auto (22 not included) and takes detachable box magazines. M1 Garands will be included becuase you can load them fairly fast even though they don't use box mags.

Handgun: semi-auto pistols 9mm or bigger that are large enough to be used as a sidearm. IE no mini Glocks or Kimbers. Basically "duty weapon" sized guns.

Shotgun: semi-auto or pump, barrel designed for slugs and buckshot. IE no 26" barrel guns that could technically shoot a slug.

My gun collect contains only one gun that I would not consider a combat weapon under these criteria. Not that I have anything against hunting or target guns, I just bought all the combat guns first.

Just the .22s for cheap plinking and the 20 gauge with a 28 inch barrel my dad gave me when I was 10. The rest fit those criteria.

Most of my collection is combat, but I would expand your definition to include weapons used in combat. My M48 Mauser and my .308 SMLE I would include along with my blackpowder .44 1860 Army and my 1851 Navy.

The only guns I would consider non-combat in my collection include a SxS 12 Gauge shotgun and a single shot .20 gauge.

since i have a c&r licensee, 99% of my guns are combat. the other one percent are my hunting guns

%100 percent of my guns are used in combat, but I only have one gun so it probably doesn't really count.

I have a C&R.

The only "combat" gun that has a detachable mag is my AR-15. The rest are bolt action "combat" rifles.

They might be old, but they can still shoot!

Most of my guns would not fit these criteria, I own mostly "hunting" guns and a few World War II bolt guns-although it's funny that what is probably the most "dangerous" (and nastiest looking) gun I own is a FN Police Tactical which wouldn't qualify either.

Most, but that is including old surplus bolt guns. If I see an old Nagant or Enfield at the gun show for $50 and it is in good shape, I have a hard time not buying it, and $50 firearms are a fairly easy sell with the wife.

Hmmm... the SxS coach gun is out...

The Nagant and the Swedish Mauser were combat guns, but not by definition in your thread...

The significant other has a Ruger 10/22 and a bolt action 22, I guess those are out as well.

Ummm... 0% by your standards...

Thanks for all the replies guys.
For you who have old bolt actions or other types of guns that were combat guns at one time- maybe I should of worded the question modern combat weapons. My point was to only include weapons that most people would feel comfortable with in combat. Yes bolt actions and even flintlocks were combat weapons at one time, but if you had to go into battle with them now you would be seriously underguned.

I'll take my 1917 Remmington or 1903 Springfield into combat with me.

Accurate and they can take a beating.

Based on your criteria only three of my guns are not "combat". My P22, my Rem 700 VS-LH, and my Marlin 22 semi-auto.

Personally I would classify the P22 as a combat weapon as soon as I add the thread adapter and suppressor since the US Spec Op community has/does use suppressed .22's. The VS-LH is basically a sniper rifle so I would classify that as a combat type weapon also. And the Marlin has hi-caps for it and once it gets threaded I would classify that as a "clandestine combat weapon" but as it is right now I would not.

All of my firearms meet your criteria, with the exception of my two deer and turkey shotguns. I sold my .22 and have not replaced it yet. 83%.

So far.... 2 AR 15s (and counting), 4 AK variants (and counting), 1 FAL (and counting), 1 Remington 870 Express Magnum (18" barrel and 2 shot extension), and 1 H&K USP 45.
