Well I just got two of my toys back and reassembled.
I had a Pre-Ban PWA lower Re-Anodized (hard coat) and just finished assembling it with all new parts. I have everything for the upper except for a receiver, it will me a 14.5" A3. I also had a Mossberg done. The receiver was also Hard coat anodized, but then I had the receiver and the rest of the shotgun Parked over at AZEC Arms.....the heat shield was done in black, and a cross pin for the trigger group was done in black. the receiver, mag tube, barrel and a few other small parts where done in a medium grey....it looks Great....Thx Derek! |

Gary Owen had a bunch of stuff to get Anodized so I glass beaded the receivers and got him to have the stuff done with his to try and cut the cost a little. Cav Arms doesn't really deal with that kind of stuff, He just had some of his stuff being done and a few aluminum rails to do, so I got mine thrown in. I know AZEC Arms has someone they use for Anodizing, And after seeing the job they did on my shotgun, I am looking into the safe to see what else I can get him to do for me....

I have an upper and lower receiver that I would like to have refinished.
Are they a local company. I was thinking of going to Robar, but if I am able to save some $$$ that would be great. |

yes, the place Garry owen used is local....AZEX arms is also local...four doors up from Cavalry Arms. I wont be back to Cav arms till monday, I can find out then where he took the stuff. You might try sending him an Email and ask him where/who it was.

Not to get off subject, but where so you guys shoot here in town? I have been going way up I-17 past Anthem. Anywhere closer?

Aladdin: Off of Table Mesa Rd? East or west of I-17? It's a great place to go, IMHO. Only problem is the jerks that leave all their "shooting trash" laying around. I go there, and I always try to police up as much brass as possible-except for .22s-but some of the garbage left there by "shooters" pisses me off. Soon it will be off-limits to us. Ben Avery is a great place to shoot, but I most often enjoy the "casualness" of just going out into the desert. The east side of Table Mesa Rd. is rougher, but the scenery is "desert awesome". The west side is a little smoother, but there are better shooting backstops and more ATV yahoos tearing up the road.
 I always go to the range (Ben Avery) when I have a gun I need to sight in-can't beat the solid benchrests, $1.00 rental spotting scopes, cheap targets and the great people that work there as stewards.
