Just got the new SOG catalog and saw this monstrosity on the back cover.  It is a pump action shotgun designed specifically to work with those new mini-shotshells.  It has a 5 round detachable mag in the pistol grip.  The thing is ugly as sin - it looks like they were trying to make it as a pistol and then sort of slapped a buttstock on it at the last minute.  Actually, it really sort of looks like an old pump paintball gun.

Despite its horrid looks, a shotgun designed specifcally for these new rounds seems like a pretty neat concept for a fungun.  With its current features, they could have made a semi, though - or at least added a couple more "evil" features.  The 5 round mag appears to sit flush with the bottom of the PG - looks like they can get it to 10 without it being too much in the way.  Folding buttstock would work too.   Maybe we'll see similar guns if these sell.  However, I think they'd move alot quicker if they weren't so fugly.

Hmmm, just noticed their ad states a 16" barrel... on a shotgun.  I hope its a typo, otherwise they just made an SBS, no?
