Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - UPPER??????????????????

i was hoping someone could help me find
out who made this upper i have
here is the scoop
on the right side of the carry handle
under the sight it has a  
p and m   its a a1 upper
the barrel is marked on the top at the
last six inches
and says
4t663 mp chrome bore its 20inches

Can't help w/the exact manufacurer of the raw forging for the upper, but it sounds like a Vietnam era M16A1 barrel and upper.  My best guess is that it was put on a Colt built M16.  The marks on the reciever forging are contractor IDs that are found on Colt guns, and the barrel markings are consistent with the way Colt marked its barrels.
