Does anyone know if the barrel and chamber is chrome lined?  Is the barrel used surplus or brand new?

The STG 58a is a parts kit rifle built by DSA. For the price it's an excellent buy.

I'm not sure but I would guess the barrel isn't chrome lined. I'm sure the kit is used but I have never heard anyone complain about the quality of the parts kit used to build the rifle.

If you don't want to build your own and price is a big issue it's the best deal out there on a complete rifle.

The barrels are used but in excellent shape. These are parts guns but if you haven't seen one, they look brand new. Most of the barrels are Styer and I believe some are Belgian. I am not positive but I think they are chrome-lined.

Your best bet is calling DSA and asking. They are usually happy to tell you anything you need to know.

DSA said that they are not chrome lined and the steyr barrels are not chrome moly or stainless. You think that for the price they are charging they could add a barrel upgrade at least to cheap 4140 chrome moly button or broach cut.
