Getting ready to go to the shop and order a Springfield Armory Loaded in .45! Blued or Parkerized.....just a quick poll to help me with the last decision before I get there!

I vote parkerized.  It is more corrosion resistant and looks "meaner" IMO.

IMHO park is much more durable, especially if you wipe it down with oil on a regular basis (the park has pores that hold the oil, protecting the gun).

I have not yet heard of a "wonder finish" that would convince me it's better than park.  I think there's some discussion about a new coating over on Pistolsmith.com that is almost indestructable, but I haven't kept up on the threads.  I think it's Body Coat (?).

Until something better than the current polymer finishes comes along, it's park for my guns.

I have a parkerized springfield .45.I carry it all the time in my wastband.I keep it clean & oiled. Its 1 year old &is shiny on all the edges.I dont care what it looks like.It is the most accerat 45 I have ever shot and would not trade for any other pistol.I not sure blued would hold up better but it might.

I am fixing to go ! Thank Goodness I only have to wait a couple of days for my new toy to arrive. SA Loaded Parkerized .45! Not much to most, but this is my first pistol (other than the POS .380 that my cousin gave
me) Thanks again for all the replies!
