Does anyone know the value of a Preban Colt Ar-15. The only thing not original on this gun is the trigicon sights and it has a colt scope on it. The model is a SP1 and the first four numbers of the serial number are 1638. It also has a telescoping stock and it has a 11inch barrel. With a CAR style flash suppresor.

ell, the SP1 carbines are worth $1200 to $1500 typically.  Colt 4x carry handle scopes go for about $150 used.  I am not sure the upper is original... dont know if they used the 10.5"/5.5" combinations originally on the SP1 series...  I know they came with 16" lightweight barrels.

1638 puts that gun around 1971.
