I know of a gun store in Arizona selling the 9mm and .40 versions of these brand new for $299...anyone tell me if this is a good price, I'm ready to buy both versions. Also any feedback on the gun would be helpful, I know they take Glock mags.

Is it the Sub-2000 or the older Sub-9 & Sub-40???  Last I heard, the Sub-2000 was only avail in 9 still?

The Sub-9/40 are aluminum receivers while the new ones are plastic.  $300????  Dang, nice price and in Glock mag too.

Well, I have the Sub 40 in Glock mag.  I love mine.  Might pick up the newer model just for the hay of it....

I just got 2 of the 9mm sub 2000s in. Was like pulling hen's teeth to get the distributor to release them to me.

My cost with shipping came to $255 so I think since the shop spent thier money not yours to order them in that $45 profit is just fine.

What kind of pressures can they take in 9mm?  +p?  +p+?

My FFL is still trying to get some of them.  $300 is a good price so grab it while you can.  I have done searches on this gun and can't find anyone complaining about them, only praise.

30+ round magazines are still easily found.  I picked a couple up at a local gun show this morning.

How much were the 30 round mags you bought? When are you gonna shoot it and give a field report?

That reminds me......'springs, springs, springs' are the key to the 30 rnd mags.  Weather it's Glock or other pistol (ie Berretta, Smith, or what ever).

Well, picked up a Scherer 9mm (33rnd) for $80.00 a while back.  Why I got a 9 I don't know... since I have a usually get Glock 40 cal mags.  Got 29 rnd Scherer Glock 40 last between $80-120.

Also, you can use the USA steel 30 rnd Glock in the Kel tec.  Thos are a bit cheaper (under 40 usually)....due to the manufacturer.  You might have to fiddle w/ it, but hi caps are hi caps..........  The 9mm USA will work in the 40's... just open up the mag lips a bit.

I bought the Scherer 31 round with a +2 base for $85.00 the guy was asking $100.00.  There were a bunch out there at the gun show today.  I would guess if the Kel-Tek sell well the prices for these mags will continue to go up.  They were asking anywhere from $99.00 to $125.00.  I was not able to find any steel mags today.  The BIG gun show in Phoenix is next week, I hope to find some there.

Does the 9mm that takes Glock mags take Glock 19 mags?  or does it only take the Glock 17 mags?  If the grip is too long, the 19s won't fit.  Could someone advise?

G19 mags will not work.

What, are they too short because they're "compact" or what?

[#14]
Correct.  It was designed with the 17 in mind, so that is the shortest mag it can take.  You can always go longer though.

Well shit shit shit!  Anyone want to trade some Promag 19s for some 17s?

Well, on a side note.  How much longer are the 17 mags compared to the 19 mags?  I'm just bummed because I have 6 factory 15 rounders, and 4 promag 15 rounders.  Maybe I could shorten the grip on the rifle?  Bah.  I just want one 'cause it looks cool.  What do y'all think?

Was able to 'look' at a Sub 2000 9mm at one of the local shops.  Really different from the earlier model.  Noticed the bolt hold open on the handle, a slot so you can move the op handle and catch it in the open position.  All plastic.  The barrel pivot is plastic too.  Not quite sure how the barrel is held in place, but looks like a good rifle.  For the price (had 319 on it), not bad.  I'll wait for them to drop or when they get more common.  But why do I need another 'sub rifle'?  I've got the Sub 40....

The dealer was telling me that the older Sub series was replaced because of feeding problems, jams so on...... I don't beleive him.  Usually that means your ammo might not be hot enough.  (This one place has a guy that exagerates a lot....)  I think it's because it cost Kel Tec too much money to make the original Sub.  Suggested retail was near 700....

Over all, the new one is a good looking rifle.

From memory - which may not be entirely accurate - the G19 handle is 1/2" shorter than the G17.  Since the mag catch is towards the top of the mag I guess it would be possible to shorten the Keltec handle, but without looking at one in person I wouldn't swear to it.  I'm pretty sure a good gunsmith could make it work if you couldn't in your garage with a dremel...
