I have seen them for as high as $5000.  You don't seem them that often.

The CMP puts your bone stock 1903A3 with "C" stock at $500.

I've seen MAYBE one 03A4 in full dress, and I don't remember the price. It was pricey, as I recall.

A correct M1C or M1D Garand goes for $2,500 - 3,000.

I don't think I'd pay much more than that.

As a rule, its worth whatever you are willing to pay for it.

If it is correct, along with the offset serial number, take it and run.  

You will pay $700 for a good (orginal) 1903A3.  I see I am not the only one who finds good deals.

does the receiver say 1903a4?
what side is it on?
and does the barrel have a front sight cut?

I paid $425 for a very nice (VERY) 03A3 late last year.

It is a 4 groove barrel, and looked like it had not been fired more than a few times. It has a C stock that was pretty clean and properly marked. It is not really a collectible as it is a '43 and probably had a few parts on it that might or might not be from the original date of manufacture.

It shoots great and has become my favorite rifle to shoot. What a shoulder thumper.

If it is an 04 and clean, I'd say it is worth the price.

Go over to the Gun and Knife www.gunandknife.com forum and log onto the 03 forum and ask those guys. They know every darn detail of every collectible martial firearm the US issued. If you can gather some numbers, someone over there is sure to be able to fill you in on the skinny.

Whoa....A4 in excellent condition. Pay for it what you like, but let me say this. A friend of mine has one that he inherited from his dad-it was already sporterized (no sights, scope only, Monte Carlo walnut stock) and after who knows how many rounds that gun has seen, it's still a tack driver. Has a 1960's Weaver 4X scope on it. The only problem is that it kicks like a toy artillery piece. It's the gun that made me decide to get away from lever action and pump deer rifles and go with a bolt action.
