...can anyone recommend a good quality left-handed scoped bolt action rifle for long-distance target practice and deer hunting?
- I was thinking of selling one of my AR's to finance the project.

Try a Remington 700 left handed model.

I bought a Tikka last year in .308 which is really nice. Put a Burris FFII 3.5-10x50mm on it with Optilock mounts. I spent some time looking for a hunting weight rifle in .308 and could find only a couple; the other being Savage.
The only Remingtons available in .308 were varmit weight.
There just is not a lot to choice from, if you're left handed. Unless money is no issue and you want to opt for a custom rifle.

HbarOwner, about the ".308 NATO in a .308 Win. rifle" question, I'd say "yes". For more information, check out this site, it'll make your head spin!

But...........i thought the designation that N.A.T.O. gave to that caliber was 7,62X51 and NOT .308WIN.

To all concerned - I am sorry about the improper semantics in my post.  Thanks for your responses.

Would anyone know the going rate for a Colt MT6601 (less than 1,000 rounds through it) with a Kurt's Tac Brake on the end would go for nowadays?
