After rebuild and refinishing: 
Alumahyde II Coyote. It was an exact match for the magpul FDE until I baked it, It is now right in the middle of FDE and FOL. Still need to get the sights worked out, and get the scope and mount for it but almost there. |

Finally rattle canned one of my ARs; Rustoleum Khaki and Deep Forest Green.
I wasn't trying to make it camo as much as I was just going for "not black"

There was another set of pics where the rest of rifle blended in perfectly but was still easy to spot because of the rail... I wonder what can be done to breakup that look and make it blend in better. |

I did it more for a fun project . Most of my mags and the sling is black. I don't own any camo clothing either. I would stick out a lot more than my rifle :) Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

A couple of mine, going for the multi-cam look obviously. Ones a Savage 10fpsr, still has some tape on it, the other is a DIY AR with a Midwest Ind FF forearm and MOE furniture.
I didn't paint the stock or grip on this particular one since it gets handled/shot a lot, just a personal choice. If it came down to really 'needing' to be full scale camo due to some crazy apocalyptic event well I imagine not having those two things painted will be the least of my worries. 
I also don't paint the barrels on systems we tend to run 'hot', mostly the AR's, since I don't want to burn the paint off and have to smell the fumes. And I tape up every moving part, crack and gap to prevent any paint from getting into/onto a 'working surface'. Obviously one of my browns isn't 'right' but I couldn't find one that matched and got tired of spending money on paint so I used the closest one. The last is a picture of the DW's system just to show how I tape a system up prior to paint. Nothing special there, a DIY build with basic furniture, low cost, simple, reliable, her 'goto' weapon. My goal is to #1, don't add any possible failure points so no paint in/on springs, joints, threads, screw heads etc and etc and #2 visually break up the system so it's doesn't scream "BLACK GUN HERE!" at a distance. #3 a color scheme that lets it fade into the camo we prefer for our area again so that its less "I've got a gun!" at a distance.

I like that you took the time to take up all the entry areas and especially the slight gap between the upper and lower. This is often overlooked.
If you put on nice light coats then you don't have too much to worry about, but just thing... Your trigger springs and action are sitting right there behind that gap. Not something you want any paint on at all if you can avoid it. I liked to build models as a kid and learned that it's 90% in the prep work and getting everything ready. Looks like you've done a great job and did some great camo jobs. Being totally honest I couldn't see the rifle till I zoomed in in my phone and read your post. Lol! I thought it was just some multicam reference. Haha. |

PSA has them in stock, I believe. It's a better match to KAC Taupe and Aervoe Field Drab than the LMT FDE in my opinion. |

Looks almost like honeycomb to me. On a side note, how do you like your f93? It's pretty cool. It is absolutely 100% solid when locked in place. I'm not sure it brings $150+ of functionality to the table, but it looks cool and doesn't wobble. |
