the on labeld "B"  OD green and black.

Goin to try this on a cpl mags similar scheme to the pic at the top, but a litle heavier on the black, with blended green tones.  Thinkin I should use the od green as a base then apply matte black  and blend?... any tips?

I think you're on the right track.

Do your main color as the base coat and then hold the black back at least 6-8 inches, make light passes.  If you get it too dark you can mist over dark areas with the base color to lighten and blend it a bit.
