So I ordered the DTNVS’s back in April. Been stuck on my ship the whole time so far, so the wait has been bearable, but now about to get off. Now I see AIB has pushed the housing delivery further again till November. TNVC, do you guys know if this might finally be an accurate timeline? Almost want to change back to a dtnvg, just to maybe get them sooner, but think I would hate myself for not getting what I really wanted. Are they worth the wait?
Update 12/27/2020 DTNVS is in! So glad I waited. Unfortunately, I go back to my ship tomorrow for 4 months, so that’s kind of a kick in the pants, but happy to have them in. Hung out in a closet a little bit. Left tube has a decent size spot at about 5 o’clock, but I’m sure I won’t notice it too much once I start using them. L3 UF WP tubes in them. Thanks so much @TNVC!

I'd wait. I just got some DTNVG's but only because it was a good deal w/ the tubes.
But if the option was there to wait for a few hundo more I'd have done it. Little bit lighter and maybe a little more durable? Spec wise and features all look pretty similar on paper? If i'm honest I'd probably just wait because they look a little cooler and are new

I’m sure it’s fine and has been tested, but the hinge area just looks pretty thin and like a weak point.

I have an old as crap avs6 that seems to be holding up fine. "Plastic" has come a long way since then. It does look fragile compared to the BNVD UL. |

Yeah, I’ve thought about that too. I plan on taking plenty of classes with them, but I don’t think I’ll ever be too terribly hard on them. Worse case, looks like just a hinge would be very easy to replace (I think). I figure tnvc would take care of me either way, even if I had to pay for a new hinge myself through them.

IMO I'd wait it out.
Chances are if you switch to get something faster, you'll be kicking yourself when it starts showing up in pics/vids all over the place. It is a great looking goggle. Arguably the best looking housing currently. |

There will always be new cool stuff. I'll have my RNVG's for a while until something really compelling comes out. New slightly lighter and articulating housings aren't enough for me to jump.
Plus I've only had these for a little while

a while back I got a paper with a TNVC order saying they are developing a TNVC ARTEMIS BNVG-E (Binocular Night Vision Goggle-Enhanced), is that still in development or is it on hold for now?

There have been hints of new goggle housings including stuff that was shown at SHOT 2020. I wouldn't expect anything better that you'd want to hold off for. I'm no insider so I suppose it's possible but I highly doubt it. There are only so many ways to skin a cat when it comes to goggles and IMO none of it was "extraordinary" in terms of what it offers the average user. Certain features may appeal to niche or experienced users who have refined their tastes/needs/wants. All I know is it's pretty shitty to more options/offerings coming from overseas like the knockoff PVS-31 & the pano housing (not to mention the thermal stuff) and I hope to see some American made products at a competitive price. |

The very first production DTNVS housings to hit the shores with many more inbound!
Because of delays this year, we chose not to open pre-orders for the TNV/DTNVS until we had a firm grasp on the delivery schedule, but that hasn't stopped a lot of folks from requesting that their DTNVGs be upgraded to the DTNVS already! We will be posting details for placing new orders for the TNV/DTNVS very soon, so stay tuned! Unfortunately due to the lead times on builds and the demand on components, all new orders for the TNV/DTNVS will continue to have standard lead times, however we have had "shadow pre-order" requests in since late last year, so we will begin shipping TNV/DTNVS units almost immediately!    And before anyone asks--the d-collar focus stop rings on these housings will not be standard equipment, they are for a specific contract order. The TNV/DTNVS will come with standard focus stop rings. ~Augee |
