So I ordered the DTNVS’s back in April. Been stuck on my ship the whole time so far, so the wait has been bearable, but now about to get off. Now I see AIB has pushed the housing delivery further again till November. TNVC, do you guys know if this might finally be an accurate timeline? Almost want to change back to a dtnvg, just to maybe get them sooner, but think I would hate myself for not getting what I really wanted. Are they worth the wait?

Update 12/27/2020
DTNVS is in! So glad I waited. Unfortunately, I go back to my ship tomorrow for 4 months, so that’s kind of a kick in the pants, but happy to have them in. Hung out in a closet a little bit. Left tube has a decent size spot at about 5 o’clock, but I’m sure I won’t notice it too much once I start using them. L3 UF WP tubes in them. Thanks so much @TNVC!

Ugh. I don’t want to, but I’m sure it will be worth it. My coti is all lonely without them

I'd wait. I just got some DTNVG's but only because it was a good deal w/ the tubes.

But if the option was there to wait for a few hundo more I'd have done it. Little bit lighter and maybe a little more durable? Spec wise and features all look pretty similar on paper? If i'm honest I'd probably just wait because they look a little cooler and are new

Not gonna lie, I do love how they look :)

I’m sure it’s fine and has been tested, but the hinge area just looks pretty thin and like a weak point.

Says its poly reinforced polycarbonate.  I have an old as crap avs6 that seems to be holding up fine. "Plastic" has come a long way since then.

It does look fragile compared to the BNVD UL.

Yeah it's hella unnerving hearing/seeing the brake right where the pods connect on a set of DTNVGs a few  months ago on TFB:

Yeah, I’ve thought about that too. I plan on taking plenty of classes with them, but I don’t think I’ll ever be too terribly hard on them. Worse case, looks like just a hinge would be very easy to replace (I think). I figure tnvc would take care of me either way, even if I had to pay for a new hinge myself through them.

I've been saying for months that 95% of you guys won't see your DTNVS' until 2021.

Time will tell if I eat my words or not. But I don't think I will.

Probably why that arm can be unscrewed from the tube housing.

IMO I'd wait it out.

Chances are if you switch to get something faster, you'll be kicking yourself when it starts showing up in pics/vids all over the place.

It is a great looking goggle. Arguably the best looking housing currently.

Yeah, I’m gonna wait. Put in this much time already. Just hoping to get it before 2021 and before I go back out to sea.

There will always be new cool stuff.  I'll have my RNVG's for a while until something really compelling comes out.  New slightly lighter and articulating housings aren't enough for me to jump.

Plus I've only had these for a little while

a while back I got a paper with a TNVC order saying they are developing a TNVC ARTEMIS BNVG-E (Binocular Night Vision Goggle-Enhanced), is that still in development or is it on hold for now?

There have been hints of new goggle housings including stuff that was shown at SHOT 2020. I wouldn't expect anything better that you'd want to hold off for. I'm no insider so I suppose it's possible but I highly doubt it.

There are only so many ways to skin a cat when it comes to goggles and IMO none of it was "extraordinary" in terms of what it offers the average user. Certain features may appeal to niche or experienced users who have refined their tastes/needs/wants.

All I know is it's pretty shitty to more options/offerings coming from overseas like the knockoff PVS-31 & the pano housing (not to mention the thermal stuff) and I hope to see some American made products at a competitive price.

I think you will be disappointed compared to your current setup.  A super nice filmless 14 and an Iray is hard to beat for hunting.

Looks like AIB still holding steady on Dec release for the dtnvs. Any word? Also, if I paid for a flight for one of you guys to go knock heads in Luxembourg to get these out, would that help?

Any idea when you guys might have the IPD Locking System accessory for the DTNVS?

I called in a few moments ago and switched my DTNVG housing for these. I was already looking at the end of December for my unit to ship so figured might as well upgrade at this point!

Stoked.

So I haven’t ordered my NOD’s yet, and and hadn’t decided on RNVG, or DTNVG....should I wait on these instead?

Never knew that. Makes sense. I was trying to be funny. Guess it didn't work, lol.

The pictures of the DTNVS' rear housing I've seen online are different without the 4 holes as shown with the IPD accessory. Did that change or how does that work if you can say?

I'd wait for the DTNVS since they're supposedly more durable than the DTNVG or go for the RNVGs.

I'll be sticking with my DTNVG/RNVG for now, but interested to see what the general consensus is when the DTNVS is in full circulation.

Not sure what the current lead time on goggles are these days, but you'll be waiting a little longer for the DTNVS.

They look awesome, but if you want/need something soon go with another option.

They’ll come eventually—we know these housings are in high demand, and that both DIYers and downstream vendors will want to get their hands on them as well, but we do need to make sure we’ve fully fulfilled our commitments to those who purchase complete systems and may or may not want to upgrade from other systems before we can do that. We will announce once they’re available.

Night Vision INC has the housings for sale now.

Saw lots of folks asking, figured I would post it up for those looking.
