Yes, PC photo cathode response. I’ve seen the comparison Photonis/L3 on YouTube. I was concerned that the Videos showed a full Intens and the Echo was less sensitive in PCR.
Thanks for bringing this up, cause i’ve been wondering how the echo stands up.

From what I've seen online Photonis tubes run low compared to competitors. Someone had a comparison chart up that showed the Intens tube at 1000 uA/lm@2856 compared to what like the 2k range for everyone else. I'm not very knowledgeable on this, so don't know if that translates directly into any of the differences in performance, or there is something else going on entirely driving the Photonis line. There is not even a photocathode sensitivity spec on the sheet. Whatever it is, the Echo holds its own. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another... in fact if I can source a pitbull that's what's going inside.
Yes, I think the differences shown in the video are accurate to the Echo tube. I'm sure a full 4G Intens that made the cut looks better in person, but the final product video looks representative of the one Echo I have. I actually feel like the L3 was represented less accurately there due to the limitations of capturing NV images. When you're at 72 res and pushing 40 SNR I dont think you can ever do the real picture justice. But then again I have a L3 and do not have a 4G Intens (though I may have to get one after running an Echo).
Bottom line, I think its a great tube for the price, and with the 10 year warranty JRH is offering, hard to beat. I won't be giving up my L3, and am about to try my luck at obtaining a "super" spec tube, but for my most dominant application (mixed lighting surveillance and ops that involve frequent outdoor/indoor or NV/white light transitions), I think this will be my go to unit... until I can afford a 4G.
