We are pleased to announce that all new ATLAS thermal binoculars will ship with updated software (2.39.I). I’d like to take this opportunity to announce this release and thank everybody who contributed their ideas to this development.
Top Three Improvements:
1.
Transparent menu systems. Beginning with this software update, the user can see the effects of changes that are being made to brightness, contrast, sharpness, contrast enhancement level, etc. in real time.
2.
Region of Interest (ROI) control. This is an interesting feature that some users may find very beneficial. Choice of ROI allows the user to manually select part of the image that will be used for image optimization/enhancement. Options are full image, half image, or quarter image. ROI is centered on the image and scaled appropriately at different zoom settings. Main uses of this feature are rejection of the unwanted interference, i.e. a very hot object close to the edge of the image that makes cooler objects appear dimmer and detection of targets with very low thermal contrast.
3.
Self-restoration. Under some rare conditions, due to user adjustments or a system glitch, it is possible that the thermal image will become either completely invisible or image quality will be poor. The self-restoration process reverts video settings to their default values, which ensures that all internal parameters are correctly set and brings back up the great image quality.
This is a factory-level software update. However, if you would like to update the software in your ATLAS, we will do it free. You only pay for shipping of your unit to and from our factory. Our turnaround on updates is approximately one week.
