As someone who is just now getting into nv, I’ve been looking at the opscore bump helmets. I was hoping someone could tell me why the molded shroud needs upgraded or isn’t sufficent. Thx

Some users feel that the lockup is not tight enough, introducing wobble into the system.
The reality is that you simply cannot hold tolerances as tightly for a molded plastic shroud as you can for a machined insert like the Wilcox.
That being said, you can use various methods to tighten up the lockup, including electrical tape or loop Velcro to shim the mounting interface, use the included bungees to introduce tension, etc.
On the one hand, the lockup could be improved, a molded-in machined insert could probably solve it pretty easily, but would also obviouslt increase costs.
On the other hand, there are also thousands of users out there who have been using the Bump/Base Jump for years with no reported issues whatsoever.
I did mine essentially as an experiment to see if I could since I was already hacking on the helmet, not because I thought it was necessary to do.
