Has anybody checked these out? I've been waiting to see the digital color night vision in a form factor small enough to be head-mounted. Are we finally there? |

Cool haven't heard of the Klesh
Yes a RHNO will work fine. You can search the lancer website for resellers and try on a helmet in a store |

I’m wondering if $360 is the pre order intro price or is this going to be standard pricing?
|
|

I emailed Sionyx to ask the difference and they replied with..Sport has no GPS, Compass, Pitch and Roll Overlay, or Sensor for the Loop Mode. ALL other features and specifications are the same. signed by Bill in customer service.

I think for that price its worth it.
Curious if there's a way to mount a relatively small IR light to it for hand held use vs going the helmet mount routine? |

How long will the preorder sale last?

Echo arms will have a helmet mount in the next 1-2 weeks From Instagram

I went ahead and ordered one of the new Aurora Sport models. Not sure how long the pre-order sale is going to last but it's a hell of a deal. They have said on their Instagram they are looking to ship in about 3-4 weeks if anyone is curious.

I purchased the monstrom tactical lens cover as suggested on the Sionyx FAQ page from Amazon. Delivered in about 48 hours for about $10.00. It seems to provide ample lens coverage with out obstructing the view. I realized that having one was a big deal when I caught my 4 year old running around with it (snagged it off the charger). I will try posting pictures later Attached File

Yeah, the Blizzard #8 is the ticket - optically clear so you don't have to do anything to use.

Haven't ordered the Sport yet, still waiting on a customer to pay, grrrr. But I am 100% going to spray it with Duracoat, so I'll be the $360 Guinea Pig.
On another note, I came across a "Group" on Facebook (I don't "do" Facebook, found it via Google) that is Airsoft based, but is using the heck out of the Aurora. Sionyx Actual is also a regular contributor. Anyway, there are some good tips in there, and one of them was about Eye-Relief and the need to "bury" the camera in your face to see everything. Well, I can't believe it wasn't obvious, but the camera's rubber eye-piece just pops OFF, LOL. It helps - I didn't have a huge issue with it, but it does "open up" the FOV a bit. I'm going to grab a DIY sheet of optically clear 'Screen Protector' material, and put it on the EVF screen. |

Edit: In addition to the 10K battery standing upright (see above pics), I have snack size zip-loc bags of 9mm rounds, AA, and CR123 in there too (in front of the battery, and to the left) - as I need ~20oz of counterweight and refuse to carry useless lead, lol. The straps easily cover the upright battery, and you can even go a little taller. The batteries are light, so leave room for other "weight". |

I reached out to Echo Arms as follows:
A rumor on AR15.com brought this inquiry about as follows: 1.) Do you have plans for creating a mount for the Sionyx Aurora? 2.) If so, will it be a mount for filming off to the side or designed for ocular viewing? 3.) If plans are in the works, do we have an expected price point and a product release date? I apologize if I have been misinformed, there was information that stated a post on Instagram stated such. Thank you for your time, and received the following reply: I have the first batch of helmet mounts done now. Dropping off at anodize Monday. They are based on my Velcro mounts. POV filming, not meant for ocular viewing. Regards, Eric Hostetler Echo Arms-Owner |

As did I! I thought it somewhat hilarious I almost did not because of the 29.58 shipping charge. I hate paying high shipping, although in this case with the extremely low price, and the pre-order bonus still making it under 400, I couldn't resist.
Now to start buying accessories, and what I truly fear is this being a terrible, terrible new gateway to funnel money away from so many other projects I intended to work on. |

I just picked up the sport as well. I didn't see that they removed the compass and GPS which sucks but I didn't really use it anyway with the regular model. I tried comparing the rest of the specs and from what I can tell it's the same just IP67 rated. I hope that's correct.

The ops-core Counterweight Kit # 39-99-101 doesn't list any measurements, looks pretty low profile with connections at both ends, maybe it would fit the smaller cylindrical Anker batteries. The 4.5" x 3.5" MilSim GoPro battery pouch could be a good option as well. It's airsoft, but made by Tac Tailor, so there could be some quality to it. Before, was considering the 6 x 3 x 1 EOG counter weight pouch and SOE NSW Helmet Ballast. The largest pouches seem to give us the most options, until we find out what the perfect size battery that lasts and keeps its charge is. |

Will battery life be augmented as well since the power requirements are semi diminished? |
