Single tubes can be a workhorse if that’s what you’ve got, but IMHO, duals are an absolute force multiplier. If you can afford to do so and price is no object, get duals.
Don’t fixate on “white,” white is nifty, white is cool, white may have some small benefits over green—but what you should be focusing on is filmed verses filmless. There are filmed white, and unfilmed green out there, so don’t get confused by the marketing hype about “WP” alone.
P.S. the whole thing about filmed tubes being more durable than unfilmed is old dope—was true a few years back, not true any longer.
RNVGs are a great new option for folks that a) were only ever going to run Sentinels with the dovetail mount, and b) that don’t care about AA vs. 123 power supply and the resulting runtime differential.
Manual gain on binoculars:
Unnecessary, but single gain control can be nice if it’s an option. Dual gain control is more effort than it’s worth.
Price being no object, I would go Unfilmed WP Sentinels, but I’m also a ball detent mount fan. If I were planning to use dovetail exclusively, I’d go RNVGs, same tubes.
