Clasky has been handling these and we will have these on our web site next Monday. We will have them in the L3 Mil Spec Filmed and WPT Unfilmed tube flavors.
Some of the differences, The Sentinel runs off CR123 but also allows the use of a battery pack. The RNVC is a AA system and presently the only power source. Sentinel also comes with a ball detent mount for legacy ANVIS systems where presently the RNVG is dovetail option only. Weights are very close. AB NightVision Inc. is proud to announce the release of the Ruggedized Night Vision Goggle (RNVG). The RNVG is an extremely tough, full featured night vision binocular. Familiar controls ensure ease of use. Any user familiar with PVS-14 goggles will find the controls to be intuitive. The switch and focusing functions are identical to the PVS-14. The switch has 3 positions: Off, On, and On with IR illuminator. Like the PVS-14, the switch does not cut power to the tubes when changing positions to turn the IR illuminator on. The RNVG has IR signaling capability. As a safety feature the switch knob must be pulled out to turn the IR illuminator on. An IR spot/flood adapter can be used if the user desires more range from their IR illuminator. The RNVG is designed to work off a single AA battery, ensuring that users can find a power source at a local store no matter where in the world you happen to be. The binocular has a battery life of over 16 hours on a lithium AA and flashes a low battery indicator within the optics when the battery needs changing. RNVG optics feature a full range of adjustment. The mil-spec objectives allow the user to focus between 9.8 inches and infinity, while the mil-spec eyepieces offer a diopter adjustment range of -6 to +2. The interpupillary distance is adjustable to match the users eye spacing from 51mm to 73mm. IP adjustment is accomplished with jackscrews that maintain user settings using a ball-detent method to prevent any changes due to vibration. The RNVG was designed from the ground up to be extremely tough. When a night vision binocular is dropped and broken, it will most likely fail at the joint between the optical pods and the bridge. However, both the optical pods and bridge on the RNVG are CNC machined from solid billet 7075 aluminum to prevent breakage. This material is 36% stronger than most common steel making the RNVG the most rugged night vision goggle in production. Careful design combined with advanced machining techniques have kept the weight of the RNVG down to a very competitive level at 555 grams (without battery). The goggle is available in Flat Black, Coyote Tan, and Flat Dark Earth. The components of the binocular are media blasted to give a non reflective matte finish, then black anodized for durability. For the Tan or FDE options Cerakote, a proven firearms finish, is applied over the anodizing to give a tough, attractive finish. Specifications: POWER SOURCE: (1) AA SIZE BATTERY FOCUS RANGE: 9.8” TO INFINITY OPERATION TIME: APPROXIMATELY 16 HOURS ON LITHIUM BATTERY MAGNIFICATION: (1X) ONE POWER FIELD OF VIEW: 40 DEGREES INTERPUPILLARY ADJUSTMENT: 51 TO 73MM DIOPTER ADJUSTMENT: -6 TO +2 EYE RELIEF: 25MM WEIGHT: 555g W/O BATTERY, 570g W/ LITHIUM BATTERY DIMENSIONS: 4.7” X 4.2” X 2.8” IR ILLUMINATOR: BUILT IN, ACCEPTS SPOT/FLOOD ADAPTER WATER RESISTANCE: SUBMERSIBLE TO 66 FT IR LED AND LOW BATTERY INDICATORS: YES INTENSIFIER TUBES: COMPATIBLE WITH MX-10160 STYLE OPTICS: COMPATIBLE WITH PVS-14 EYEPIECE AND OBJECTIVE WARRANTY: 5 YEARS ON HOUSING PARTS AND SERVICE PER POLICY |

They will be less expensive than the Sentinels, our pricing is still being worked on.

And here I've considered getting rid of my Mod3's for Sentinels....hmmm
|

Compared to the sentinel these will be a touch lighter, stronger, and cheaper.
The sentinel can run a ball detent mount or dovetail and has the option for a remote battery pack. I think these are going to be very popular. |

View Quote 6g lighter than Sentinels Will be able to take a battery pack directly to the unit, no ball detent needed, like a psq36/pvs31 Aluminum and not derlin There is a single gain unit on the horizon. Hopefully will have a demo unit in hand next week I can give a full hands on review and some time under them. |

Quoted: No, the units do not have a battery pack option. There is talk about users who want this option to send it in, for an upcharge. Future units may include this, but intial units will not have any external battery pack options. Look for our review very soon. Yea, hear the RNVG is going to be a bit cheaper than the sents.
AB night vision makes a good chunk of the aftermarket housings.... Mod3s Sentinels RNVGs The older NVD BNVGs NVD Micro Pitbulls Mongooses NVM2aas ALL these come from Adam at AB NV Dude is a modern genius IMHO Quoted:
lol I thought 6oz was too good to be true but 6g is still something. Guess it comes down to price at this point for me. View Quote |

Correct, but it is coming in the future.
There is talk of a 2 battery low profile pack as well. Way smaller than the normal anvis pack. |
|
Quoted: AS stated the initial units will NOT be able to do this. There is talk of an option of an up-charge MOD for folks to send their units in. (May be a $100). Future models may come with this feature. View Quote |

patiently waiting for more details... will there be options for ANVIS glass? |
|
Pretty excited about these. Was looking to upgrade from PVS-14 to Sentinels late this year or early next year. I don't have a need for the ball detention mount so these sound great to me, especially at a lower price point.
Eta: I didn't see it, but I assume these are auto gated and auto gain.. |

View Quote Overall interesting developments in the bino markets during the previous 2 years. Everyone coming out with a new model with some extra interesting units in the mix like that Mini BNVD from NVDevices (Harris that is then?) and their low weight optics (sub 415g with battery they say), the 80deg WFOV PVS-15 from N-Vision Optics/Kent Optronics and many more but those two stand out being quite peculiar in their own ways. |

Dang it! can't Monday come quicker? guess it doesn't matter cause I still have till the end of the year to get my funds in order.

Is the price really what I have been seeing? Like lower than I expecteD?

So how much is it with the full kit? I've been saving pennys for my first set of Binos. This might be the ticket.

$1000-1200 housing only is tenative |

These will do a great job filling the gap between folks who don't need the modularity of the MOD-3s, nor do they want/need the ANVIS-mount/external battery pack compatibility of the Sentinels, some may be pleasantly surprised by the pricing.
I'm still a ball detent mount adherent, but I recognize that I'm the minority in that one--for most users, the dovetail interface is usually a superior option simply in terms of cost and relative simplicity compared to ball detent mounts. Same with the external battery pack configurations, for most users it's not a critical capability, but one way or another, more options and more competition usually means that the consumer wins out. ~Augee |

TNVC can't post a link, but I can.
The more u klik, the more likely TNVC sends me a free pair? Idk ;) https://tnvc.com/shop/ab-nightvision-rnvg-ruggedized-night-vision-goggle/ |

Maybe I missed it. But is there an option for ANVIS Glass?
A $1075 upgrade for an ANVIS goggles would prolly be a home run for a lot of people. I’ll probbly find a way to swap one or two pairs of my Sents when/if the other options come out. |
