Is this for a military application where you can get access to purpose-designed restricted equipment through your supply chain? Or are you looking for an "off the shelf" civilian/commercial unit?

The long and the short of it is that no one Class I civilian legal pointer is going to be singificantly different than another because the power limit is a fixed ceiling—even when discussing aiming laaers, the discussion usually becomes a comparison of illuminators, ergonomics, mounts, construction, etc., but not really about the aiming laser itself, because for all intents and purposes, a CL I laser is a CL I laser is a CL I laser.

For commercial/civilian devices that are “duty grade,” this is pretty much going to be your limitation functionally.

The best I could really say is that since it doesn’t sound like you’re trying to weapon-mount it, it doesn’t need to hold zero or anything like that, you might just see what’s available on eBay and Amazon in terms of IR laser pointers, this may have been what you were asking about in the first place, but I wasn’t sure what your situation was since you mentioned an aircrew application—I don’t have any experience with these items, so I can’t say much more than that, but you may be able to find something that might work for your needs.
