Best thermal handheld scanner under 1750?

Hey guys we do a lot of driving around at farms night hunting hogs here in Florida... we are thinking about getting into a thermal scanner type handheld so that we can identify where the hogs are and then go in quickly in the truck/buggy and get them with ARs and white lights. Maybe eventually do a night vision scope or thermal weapon scope but for now we were thinking just a thermal scanner would help us out a lot. Is that a good plan? So what is yalls opinion on the best one for under 1,750 or so? Ive heard of the new Leupold LTO also the Pulsar ld19a and then flir has some i think. Battery life is important as well as clarity and detection range. Oh also maybe some coyote identification also! Let me know what yall think! Thanks!

I think you will have a hard time beating the HD19A or LD19A from Pulsar for that money.

I would hold out for the FLIR Q14b to hit the market. Its a handheld and a thermal scope in a tiny package, would be great for your intended use. Supposedly the msrp is going to be $1800 with a 320 core.

Why would you do this over a 384 core that can be had today for $1400 or so? Not arguing, just asking.

New Pulsar RXQ30V is a combo mini riflescope and handheld and will be able to be had for around 1800 retail brand new.

Might be the one to watch for your budget. I looked through it the other day and it's pretty dang good for the money. 30mm 384 w/ an OLED display.

I've got the catalog from when I visited pulsar. It's really a good little scope.

I haven't touched one and I'm not sold on the 320 core myself, but the video that has been shown seems to be quite impressive and looked more like a 384 core than an 320 core. 10 year warranty is attractive too. I am withholding judgement until it hits the market.

Just bought a NIB Pulsar LD19S for $1285 off of Ebay and there are more right now for sale.
Great scanner for the money , can easily see horses at 350 yards and squirrels at 100
I think the best deal going right now and I spent a lot of time looking.

Yes , and I started my quest looking for a 30hz unit because I always try to buy one step behind the current top spec . in this case 50hz , but finding this deal which was about $1400 less than the best deal on my main choice ( HD38S ). I ruled out the FLIR due to internal battery only.
I decided to give it a try.
I am very happy. I don't really need 30hz for the kind of hunting I mainly do which is tree stand , stalk and sit.
Now my problem is do I buy another LD19S or go ahead and upgrade to 30hz as both units prices fall.

FYI , I also recently picked up a FLIR TK Scout NIB for $520 to try out.
Nutshell - Sucks in the rain , can't see 25 yards. On a nice night it really impressed me seeing squirrels in the trees at 70 yards and deer at 135 yards. It even picks up the horses at 350 yards , but only as a heat signature blob.

I have an EoTech x320 which can be found for around $1800, not to talk down on the Pulsar units but the Eotech is rated water proof to 3 feet and is drop/impact rated (though given that its Eotech, those could be lies.

) while the Pulsar units are only sprinkle rated and has no drop/impact rating. Given the money involved, I want the extra ruggedness over a slight improvement in resolution. YMMV.
