Is there a certain trick to removing the lens retaining ring from the eyepiece assembly on my PVS 7A goggles? I didn't just want to pull them off and break something.

I purchased a housing that was in better shape than mine but the interior was dusty from being stored without any tube/lens assy.

The eyepieces are dusty on the interior side and I'd like to give them as well as the mirrors a more thorough cleaning than just air.

Thanks. Rad

As you may know the manuals (both the Army's DS maint. manual and Litton's factory manual) recommend you pry the plastic ring off with a tool. I nearly broke mine doing that and I wouldn't recommend it. Nightline can do it for you (and they have a lot of spare parts for the 7A) and they are pretty cheap. I went with them.
