After a few issues, changes, and more changes, I can safely say we are focused on moving this forum in the right direction and no longer side-ways.



At this time TBK (beekeeper) will be the "acting" moderator and Raf the SrStaff member in charge of things. This is temporary while we transition things to new moderators with the explicit knowledge that the forum needs to be a fair and open area for technical discussions. This means no more attacks, baiting, hijacking, and non-technical threads. I realize it may seem a bit over the top, but we want this forum to continue to flourish, as it did with Vic at the lead. Once the new mods are in place and are comfortable with the daily grind, they will have the freedom to moderate less tightly.



In regards to the revolving moderator door the past few days, I apologize and take personal responsibility for it. To keep things short, Vic stepped down to focus on business and avoid pitfalls of moderating a forum and being a company rep. Karma then was moved in to help out and has since been replaced by staff directly to handle issues. Our fear has been to overwhelm a new moderator during the transition and that's exactly what happened. It's not fair to drop someone into a position held by another for so long, without getting some resentment from the regulars.



I want to take a moment to ask all of you to please focus on ENJOYING the discussions in here and sharing your knowledge. Ask questions, learn, teach, help, joke, and most of all build friendships that transcend the site. This forum is a great resource and it's because of ALL OF YOU! Please be kind to TBK as he hasn't modded in years and probably will end up locking the entire forum by mistake.

I promise not to lock the forum.  

I know nothing about NV (except it makes stuff appear green), but I do know the rules.  This will be a welcome learning experience for me, as I do have an intense interest in NV, at least for the long term.  

I'm told this is the largest and best NV forum on the web, so that should make everyone proud!  

Thanks to Vic, and all the regulars who make the forum what it is.  Let's talk about NV, learn together, and enjoy ourselves!

We will just be looking for scrupulous rule-following, but with "normal" posting and demeanor.  No personal attacks, no hijacks with problematical "stuff," no shilling––just the usual requirements of posting in the technical forums.  All posts are expected to be polite, businesslike, and on topic.  IOW, nothing onerous––and hopefully things will loosen up as time goes by and we get used to one another.  

I would STRONGLY suggest to search the archives on this SUBJECT matter, their HAS been a lot of information passed on already to say the least.

No––I will be looking after things for the foreseeable, and mod(s) will be chosen and appointed later.

The site owners 4 years ago gave me permission to start up this NV forum and it has grown into an incredibly large and best place for NV information.  It took a LOT of asking and begging at that time. Way back then the site owners were worried that NV was little known in the "firearms" community by most and adding yet another forum may not have been beneficial to that community. I think they made a wise choice back then to say the least.  The NV community has grown and is now eloquently involved and accepted within the firearms community as a whole and this forum and its members is the reason for that.  Hope this helps.
